Grey's Anatomy

"We all think we're going to be great and we feel a little bit robbed when our expectation aren't met, but sometimes our expectations sell us short. Sometimes the expected simply pales in comparison to the unexpected. You've got to wonder why we cling to our expectations because the expected is just what keeps us steady, standing still, the expected's just the beginning. The unexpected is what changes our lives."

Sometimes even TV presents thought provoking opportunities. This quote is one of my favorites from Grey's Anatomy.

And I wanted to apologize about moderating comments... I just got a random comment earlier from someone I don't know trying to recruit me to do online surveys. -.- ugh.

It is not the expectations that we have in our lives that keep us going. It is the ideas of what our lives to turn out. We start as a young child telling ourselves we want to be a teacher, doctor, or a fairy princess.

But then as we grow older life step in our way and the destinations that we have brought ourselves soon changes. The things we want out of ours lives become more realistic. May it be ecomonically or social. Or just plain that is not our passion anymore.

My idea is that our lives are on a path. Which each path has forks in them. We can stay the straight narrow and never find what is on either side or we stray from one direction to another. There is a good side with great adventures to brings us forward to what we want. OR a bad path that leads us off to another whole idea. We experiences what that road has to offer us and brings us back to the original path. Some people stray off the path and never come back to the middle of the road.

We learn what mistake we have experiences or what great adventure had to offer us. We then focus what we want to do. We may become mothers or fathers sooner than we want. Or something happens to us physically or emotionally to change that path forever. But majority of us come back to that path and follow what there is to be. It may take longer we get there sooner or later.
